The process of evolution from idea to actual product has always been Joris' fascination. No wonder he studied industrial design. After traineeships with the design studios Indes and GBO Joris received his laureate in 2007 on the development of a new city bike with the well-known Dutch bike factory Batavus. This bike has been taken into production since. After that he was employed by Nefit/Bosch as a product engineer. His subject was brand identity of central-heating boilers. In this period he had the opportunity to work with all aspects of design; from initial idea to conceptual phase to the development of the final product. The real challenge is to rephrase difficult problems in such a way that they become manageable in bite-size chunks. He prefers to find solutions for complex problems in close cooperation with the principal and the end user. No wonder that his enthusiasm, social commitment and interest in problem solving in care led him, as if by magic, to Panton in January 2010. He started enthusiastically with us as an industrial designer.
